Well, looks like another zombie video game gets adapted into big-screen adventure! Lionsgate has announced that the studio has optioned movie rights from Deep Silver to develop a feature inspired by DEAD ISLAND.
Based on the XBox 360, Playstation 3 and PC video game, DEAD ISLAND tells the story of a family on vacation at a tropical resort who is held under siege by zombies. The game was released in U.S. back on September 6, 2011. It became No.1-selling game both in the U.S. and the U.K., with over two million units being sold!
The DEAD ISLAND movie is currently in the early development with producer Sean Daniel (THE MUMMY) oversee the production through his Sean Daniel Company.
