Vidya Balan's Kahaani is going great guns. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the movie will soon be remade in Tamil and Telugu, and most probably in English too.
"There are talks. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, it didn't happen. It's at a very nascent stage." Ghosh told, at the DVD release of "Kahaani".
Endemol India, a TV production company, which is now into movie making, has purchased the remake rights for Telugu and Tamil version of "Kahaani".
The remakes is said to roll on floors in September. Both the Tamil and Telugu versions will release in January 2013.
"I'm delighted to know that the film and the 'Kahaani' franchise are being handled by a reputed name in the entertainment industry like Endemol India," Ghosh told in a statement.
"This association will help us reach out to audiences in the south. Here's looking forward to great success," he added.
The film has failed to take off in Saturday and Sunday. 'Tezz' has emerged as flop at the box office. In the first weekend the film has collected around Rs. 11.25 – 11.50 crore nett.

What do you do when a country, a culture and their purveyors wrong you irreparably? You plant a bomb in a speeding train and hold the establishment to ransom.
Taking a cue from Hollywood's most watched bomb-maro-bomb rush-hour excursions into plunder-land "Tezz" springs forward a nicely-packaged expertly-cut he-dunnit. And that's a very different genre from the whodunit.
Here we know Ajay Devgn is the closet terrorist. But since his fans won't like it, Devgn is, with due respect to Mira Nair, a reluctant terrorist… how reluctant, we won't reveal fully.
Devgn has a back story with screen wife Kangna Ranaut, who in keeping with her character's British domicile, sports blonde hair. No, this is not a joke.
Luckily, Priyadarshan's plot has a lot more going for itself than its leading lady's hair-to-stay problems. The director creates a taut cat-and-mouse game between 'terrorist' Devgn and cop Anil Kapoor who in true Hollywood style, is on the verge of retirement from service when duty beckons.
There are enough men on duty on both sides of the law here to fill up one section of Tihar jail. The narration allows elbow-room for an army of actors laden with anxious motivations and tense expressions to match, all hurling like the speeding train towards an uncertain nemesis. Luckily, the plot finds itself a convincing finale. And we can go home feeling all is not lost for the slick action genre in Bollywood.
There is hope.
There are some jaw-dropping action sequences here. Some of them, like Devgn and Kapoor's fist-to-fist in the grand finale and the search for Devgn in a hospital's car park, are so expertly executed they make you forget how far Bollywood lags behind in the action genre from its firangi counterpart. But then again some of the stunts like the one where passengers from the bomb-threatened train climb into a safe train, are done clumsily enough to bring us down with a thud.
Curiously, Zayed Khan and Sameera Reddy who play Devgn's accomplices in the terror crime are given one extended heart-in-the-mouth chase sequence each. They show remarkable agility in their given space. Ditto the film's technicians. Thiru S. Appan's camera looks at London with keen anticipation.
Aditya Dhar doesn't come up with one memorable dialogue except, "Teri Maa Ki…" when Devgn while negotiating his ransom money with train executive Boman Irani drops his cellphone.
"He's Indian, not Pakistani," Boman confidently informs cop Anil Kapoor with a straight face.
The absurdities don't swamp 'Tezz'. True its title, the tale of a bomb and a Boman trying to diffuse the crisis, whizzes by at breakneck speed.
Priyadarshan's tackles what's a new genre for him, with pleasure and aplomb. Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Boman Irani, Sameera Reddy and Zayed Khan furnish a flavour of slickness to a story that holds your attention till the end.
Not quite edge-of-the-seat, the thrills in Tezz are engaging enough to keep us watching.

Actor Salman Khan is flying high these days. According to a recent report, after Agneepath and Krrish 3, which is currently on the floors, Hrithik Roshan has been signed on for another film opposite Priyanka Chopra. But the star denies any such development. "I'm planning to take a much-needed break after Krrish 3 wraps up around August-September.
I want to go off with Sussanne (wife Sussanne Roshan) on a road trip across Europe. We've been planning this. Hopefully, I won't get so excited about any script that I directly jump into another project.
I'd like a month or two off," says the actor, who isn't planning to sign any new film before the year-end.
Even a sequel for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) is on hold for now, though all the three `buoyz' -Hrithik, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol -have admitted that they'd love to go on another trip together.
"It's too early to write a sequel, but if Zoya (director Zoya Akhtar) wants me in part two, I'm in," he says.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur recently admitted that he's ready to flag off his futuristic love story, Paani, which is set against the backdrop of a fast-escalating global water crisis that divides Mumbai into two worlds. The director wants Indian funding for the film, which he aspires to take to the Oscars. Shekhar has discussed the project with Hrithik and says that he is still the only actor he has in mind for the male lead.
Prod Hrithik and he says, "The last time we spoke about Paani was a year ago. A lot of time has passed and everything will depend on what stage Shekhar's project is in now.
It would definitely be an honour to work with him, but we haven't met since.
Unlike other actors, who work on five films a year, Hrithik feels it's beyond him to do as much.
Agneepath took up a year and a half and Krrish 3 will need the same. "Actually, I've been on Krrish 3 for four years already -three years of dreaming, one year of scripting and now 10 months of shooting, followed by post-production.
That's the way I work," says Hrithik, who will only hit the big screen on Diwali 2013. But before that, he could be back on TV, on the show, Koffee With Karan.
"I can't say no to Karan," he laughs.
Any chance that this year we will see his sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan, making their TV debut with daddy and mummy?
"No, there's no need for that," he retorts. "It's not right to expose children to the spotlight so early in life. Let them be children."

Sriram Raghavan and Saif Ali Khan's 'Agent Vinod' that took more than expected time to complete takes all the more time to actually forever to finish on-screen. Let it be the interval or the climax, you just wanted the film to end. Two hours forty minute is a little too long for the thriller and this is just one of the woes that the film suffers from. Though, it does has a few ups to. Read on to find out.
Story:
The film has a been-there seen-that story of an Indian RAW Agent who is on a mission to crack a code that leads to a nuclear attack on the country's capital New Dehli. A few betrayals, loopholes, and finally, Agent Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) manages to diffuse the bomb with Iram Parveen Bilal's (Kareena Kapoor) help.
Analysis:
'Agent Vinod' starts on a promising note in Afghanistan where a Vinod is trapped by at a Lashkar hideout. He along with his team member Rajan Gandhi (Ravi Kissen) find a way out of it with bullet firing and bombings. The movie has traces of the Bond series, Raghavan's 'Ek Hasina Thi', Anubhav Sinha's 'Dus' and Mani Shankars' '16 December'. The film has a few moments that are really good and you want them to stay but the graph isn't stable and has its ups and downs. The film also had a number of loopholes, with unexplained situations, wasted actors and so on.
Performances:
Saif Ali Khan is his usual self in the film not too good, not too bad. His dialogue delivery entertains but then again in parts. Kareena Kapoor could not play her part confidently as we have seen her playing 'Geet' from 'Jab We Met' or 'Naina' from 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'. She was really out of her comfort zone and we could see that. Though, there were moments when she was good. Also, in her mujra song, she was sweet rather than seductive that she was meant to be. Ram Kapoor played his cameo really well and so did Gulshan Grover and Prem Chopra. Adil Hussain was impressive as the bad guy. Maryam Zakaria and Malika Haydon were decent in their item numbers.
Technicalities:
Director Raghavan puts in the tried and tested Bollywood formula and that is where he totally spoils it. The film drags a lot. A few camera angles were interesting and picturization of a few scenes steals the show. Cinematography is like most bond movies but is good. Pritam's music is average and Mika's 'Pyaar Ki Pungi' is the best. Bebo's mujra is strictly okay. Saif and Bebo's chemistry though makes it a good watch. A few dialogues too are entertaining and the climax is pretty much predictable.
Plus points:
Few camera angles, a few dialogues, Saif and Bebo's chemistry and ofcourse, Ram Kapoor (you can practically watch the movie for him)
Minus Points:
stretched, clichéd

If all goes well, Anurag Kashyap's film 'Bombay Velvet' will have Ranbir Kapoor play the lead, which was initially supposed to be played by Aamir Khan.

We all know that history repeats itself and here is a fine example of it from within the industry. Decades ago, films would be sold to distributors once announced or during mahurats. Things changed after the industry was invaded by corporates, who would partner with producers and acquire the rights of the movies, anytime from the making to post completion.
However now again, in a sort of reversal of trends, two films have been sold for a good amount, even before a single frame has been shot. Trade sources reveal that while Rakesh Roshan has pocketed R 125 crore from selling his next Krissh franchisee, Ajay Devgn has secured R 80 crore for Son Of Sardar.
Veteran trade analyst Amod Mehra reasons, " Both the films topline major stars like Hrithik and Ajay, who are on a roll with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Singham, respectively. So it's no surprise that their upcoming movies have been sold even before shooting has begun. In a way, this marks the return of the trend of earlier days. Also, the market has grown, going by the money films have been earning recently." He adds that content is equally vital.
Sharing the same view is Sanjay Ghai, Delhi- based distributor at Mukta Arts. He feels that corporate houses are not picking up distribution rights as they did when they entered the industry.
" Corporates are more tight in terms of money. An individual distributor can dole out up to R 5 crore for a big movie in Punjab territory, but a corporate can't afford that risk. Also, they wouldn't have been able to afford the price Krissh 3 was asking for," he points out, attributing the selling price to the set- up and the reputation of Rakesh and Hrithik jodi.
Coming to Son Of Sardar, Indore- based Aditya Choksey of Akshar Enterprises enthuses that Ajay is on a high.
" Firstly, his films are doing multiple business. And the film is a remake of a South Indian hit. So naturally, Viacom 18 is positive about it," he points out.
Devgn's associate Kumar Mangat ascribes it to a combination of star status and the content. However, he states, " The trend of films being sold on announcement or mahurat is only for big stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, etc. apart from Ajay and Hrithik." As for movies like Aamir- Kareena's Dhuaan or Hrithik's Agneepath not sold as yet, it's because the producers don't want to rush, say trade sources. " You think Karan Johar can't get a good price for Agneepath? Or Aamir and his producers can't get the price they want?" counters Choskey.
A good year ahead Meanwhile, Mumbai- based distributor Ramesh Sippy of Raksha Entertainemnt says, " This year has been much more successful than 2010 yet. So naturally, the coming months promise to be as good if not better. That buoyancy has generated this heat," states.
Also, Choskey feels that this trend is only partial. " The trend will return by 50 per cent. The remaining movies with other actors will have wait. For me, the content more important," he concludes.
At the same time, Ghai feels that the individual distributors will also return in considerable way.
Actors turning producers Another distributor on condition of anonymity revealed that actor- producers venturing into distribution is another factor worth noting. " Dabangg got an offer of R 8 crore for Delhi- Up and Punjab. But the Khans took the risk on themselves and the film did business of R 25 crore," reveals, adding that Aamir Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani decided to distribute 3 Idiots themselves through Reliance Entertainment after the deal with Viacom 18 ( then Studio 18) fell out.
