After doing just two Telugu films Kanchanamala Cable TV (2005) and Neeku Naaku (2006) in the early stage of her career, model-turned-actress Lakshmi Rai has literally vanished from Tollywood to focus more on neighbouring industries where she proved to be a successful heroine, especially in Malayalam!

Now, after a gap of four years, the actress has finally accepted her third Telugu film. According to sources, she will be be one of the heroines in veteran Balakrishna’s next film to be directed by Paruchuri Murali. M.L. Kumar Chowdary of Sri Keerthi Creations is the producer. The film is expected to go on to floors shortly.

Presently, Lakshmi Rai is busy with seven films: Tere Bina Jiya Nahin Jaye (Hindi), Makeup Man, Christian Brothers, Casanova, Yodha 2 (Malayalam), Mankatha and Kanchana (Tamil).
